However, it was Karan’s another co-star from the same show, Aly Goni, who played cupid between the two.

In fact, when Karan was asked during one of his interviews if his reel-life father-in-law was the matchmaker, he replied:

“Not really. I have worked with Abhayji for a long time, but never thought that I would marry his daughter. Aly (Goni), my brother, confidante, friend and co-actor, brought the two families together. Our families arranged this match. I am happy that I have finally found my soul mate because I am already thinking of reasons to make her smile.”

And, in one of her interviews, Ankita too talked about how unexpected was it for her to be with Karan. She said:

“Karan is a beautiful person, and all this while, I had never met him at any party or even spoken with him often. Dad used to mention about his acting and work regularly at home, but I never thought that we would come together.”

Ankita’s father, Abhay Bhargava too expressed his happiness as he said during one of his interviews:

“Karan Patel is a great human being. I always wanted my son-in-law as Karan Patel and here my dream is being fulfilled. On screen, I play a role of a father-in-law to him; and I don’t believe that this reel character has turn into a real life character too.”
