War of words continues among politicians in Punjab

Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh has alleged that senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley, is evading critical issues pertaining to Punjab while poll campaigning. Singh, who is the former chief minister of Punjab, is contesting election against Jaitley in Amritsar city of Punjab. Talking to mediapersons, Singh questioned Jaitley and BJP's stand on water issue of the state. Retaliating to Singh's claims, Jaitley said he has always talked about development and had a long term vision for Amritsar. The candidates from the key parties in Amritsar have long engaged in wordy war over a slew of issues ranging from Jaitley's purchase of personal property to critical provincial issues. The political drama has intensified in India as the mammoth election kicked off on April 07. Results of the world's biggest election are due on May 16.
