Rajasthan Royals CEO confirms player was approached inappropriately to fix IPL 2015 matches

Rajasthan Royals CEO Raghu Iyer on Friday confirmed the reports that a player was "inappropriately" approached over a month ago to fix an IPL 2015 matches, and asserted that the team immediately reported the incident to the ACSU wing of the BCCI. "Over a month ago, a player from Rajasthan Royals was approached inappropriately by a player (not part of the IPL) in connection with IPL matches '15. Rajasthan Royals commends the player for having reported this incident immediately and for his honesty and uprightness," Iyer said in an official report. "Rajasthan Royals in keeping with zero tolerance approach immediately reported incident further to ACSU/BCCI for further process. Rajasthan Royals will continue to provide full support and assistance to BCCI to ensure that cricket is played in the right spirit," he added. Meanwhile, IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla appealed the players and the people involved in tournament to immediately bring it to the knowledge of the concerned officer if any such incident takes place with them.
