Patidar Agitation: Swetang Patel who allegedly died in police custody cremated

Patidar activist Swetang Patel who had allegedly died in police custody during quota agitation was smeared into ashes on Sunday. Swetang was allegedly forcibly taken away by police on August 25. A plea was moved by his mother Prabhaben Patel, which said her son was allegedly beaten up by the police and that he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Nine policemen including two inspectors and a sub-inspector were booked for the alleged custodial death of Patel. Meanwhile, police personnel were appointed in sensitive areas during the funeral ceremony of Patel to maintain law and order.
