Neglecting Maoist threat, tribals participate in traditional fair in J'khand

They might be living under constant threat of life from the left wing extremists, but the tribals in Latehar district of Jharkhand do not let it hamper their spirit. Tribals participated in an age-old traditional fair in Latehar, which was first introduced by their ancestors, wherein they worship Hindu goddess Cheri. As per the tradition, the devotees, in an inebriated state, beat themselves to please the Goddess. The fair was organized in seven villages of the district. Sukni Devi, a local, said that they have been participating in this fair to keep the tradition alive.
