Indian-origin Canadian basketball player visits Golden Temple

The first-ever Indian origin NBA player, Sim Bhullar, visited the Golden temple in Amritsar. Bhullar met people from Sikh community besides meeting his fans and admirers. During his visit to the Golden Temple, Bhullar was accompanied by senior members of Sikh community of Amritsar, his admirers as well as the media. Bhullar's parents moved to Canada in 1988 where his father worked as a taxi driver for a long time. Nearly 26 years later, the young Bhullar returned to India, but this time as a well-known personality who has broken new ground for Indian basketball players in the world scenario. Bhullar aimed to promote basketball among young people in his visit to India. He is hopeful about basketball talents in India and their chances to make it big. The Indian-Canadian is currently the tallest player playing in American basketball league. Towards the end of his visit Bhullar was shown historical photos by elderly members of the community.
