Indian cricket team leaves for Zimbabwe tour

A 15-member Indian cricket squad, led by newly appointed Ajinkya Rahane, on Tuesday left for Zimbabwe tour to play three one-dayers and two Twenty20 Internationals. The cricket team departed at wee hours on Tuesday from Mumbai airport. On Monday, team captain Rahane, said he is confident of winning against Zimbabwe, saying that it is a balanced team. The 27-year-old batsman, who has played 55 ODIs since his 50-overs debut in 2011, thanked the selectors for deposing faith in him. Indian cricket board has asked Mahendra Singh Dhoni and a host of other senior cricketers to take rest after India's defeat against Bangladesh last month. The Indian squad comprises Ajinkya Rahane (captain), Murali Vijay, Ambati Rayudu, Manoj Tiwary, Kedar Jadhav, Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey, Harbhajan Singh, Akshar Patel, Karan Sharma, Dhawal Kulkarni, Stuart Binny, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohit Sharma and Sandeep Sharma.
