Finance Minister Jaitley defends Sushma and Raje accused of helping Lalit Modi

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said nobody was tainted in the ruling BJP while defending his two senior colleagues, accused of helping disgraced cricket tycoon Lalit Modi. Congress party has demanded resignation of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje, after a document purportedly carrying her signature to back Lalit's immigration plea surfaced. The other senior BJP leader in the dock is Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, who has admitted that she had helped Modi procure British travel documents on "humanitarian grounds" because his wife was to be operated in Portugal. Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu added that nobody could accuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government of wrongdoings. The opposition is mounting pressure on Swaraj and Raje to tender their resignation following the controversy.
