Delegation of ex-servicemen meets Rajnath Singh, demands early implementation of OROP

A delegation of ex-servicemen met Home Minister Rajnath Singh at his residence on Friday and demanded early implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme. Major General (Retired) Satbir Singh said that the Home Minister assured the delegation that he will talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding OROP and get the scheme implemented as soon as possible. OROP scheme has been a long-standing demand of nearly three-million ex-servicemen and war widows in the country. It seeks to ensure that a uniform pension is paid to defence personnel, who retire at the same rank with the same length of service irrespective of their date of retirement.
