Counter terrorism expert analyses spate of Maoist attacks during polls

Counter terrorism expert Ajay Sahni gave his analytic view over the spate of Maoist attacks that have gained momentum in red corridor areas during the ongoing elections. Ajay Sahni, analyzing the prevailing insurgency, called for effective administration to tackle the armed Maoists who are in constant conflict with the establishment. Sahni said that only effective governance could change the situation on the ground, as the red rebels believe that they are fighting for the cause of poor and common man. However, Sahni said the most profound reason for the strategic failure if bluntly put was sheer and enduring neglect. Sahni concluded saying that current capacities of the establishments cannot be reconciled with any coherent CI strategy (Continuous improvement strategy) against the Maoists. Meanwhile, in Birbhum district of West Bengal a villager recovered a live bomb lying on the road side, about which he later informed the concerned authorities.
