IS Capture Palmyra's Notorious Military Prison

Footage showing IS militants touring Palmyra military prison was released on May 28, approximately a week after the historic Syrian city, home to a UNESCO World Heritage site, was seized by the militant group, amid reports of dozens of killings. The facility, also known as Tadmur prison, was used by the Assad government to detain political prisoners.

Footage posted by the pro-IS media agency al-Amaq News shows the militants touring the facility, which has various pro-Assad graffiti.
At 3.02 footage shows graffiti inside a cell reading “Syria for Assad”.
