BSF exchanges Eid sweets with Bangladeshi counterparts

Troops of paramilitary Border security Force (BSF), stationed along the India-Bangladesh border, celebrated Eid al-Adha by exchanging sweets with security personnel of Bangladesh on Monday. BSF personnel posted at Phulbari border under Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal gifted a box of sweets to the members of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) as a step of goodwill and to enhance bilateral relations. The exchange of sweets between India and Bangladesh along the border in West Bengal is an old and traditional gesture to show goodwill between the two nations and has been in practice for many years now. Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is considered one of the two most important occasions in the Islamic calendar, and marks the end of the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.
