BSE closes points 6.46 down on April 22

Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 6.46 points down to stand at 22,758.37. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 2.30 points down to stand at 6,815.35. Wockhardt and Unitech were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 5.29% and 4.51% along with BPCL and Jet Air India with an increase of 4.32% and 4.08% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include MRF and Apollo Tyres with a decrease of 7.14% and 5.58% along with Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. and SSLT with a decrease of 4.80% and 4.01% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 59.51 points at 13,614.71 while the banking sector is up 24.02 points at 14,846.18 and the realty sector is down 6.51 points at 1,482.21. The Indian currency is down 0.40% at Rs 60.83 per dollar.
