BSE closes 516.53 points up on August 27

Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 516.53 points up to stand at 26,231.19. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 157.10 points up to stand at 7,948.95. Escorts Ltd and Jaiprakash Associates Ltd were among the top gainers of group A with an increase of 18.32% and 11.83% along with Bata India Ltd and Adani Enterprises Ltd with an increase of 11.61% and 10.71% respectively, while the top losers of group A Sunrise Asian Limited and Kailash Auto Finance Ltd with a decrease of 20.00% and 4.92% along with PMC Fincorp Limited and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd with a decrease of 4.90% and 3.54% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 144.69 points at 17,823.79 while the Banking sector is up 354.62 points at 19,749.57 and the Realty sector is up 49.62 points at 1,284.00. The Indian currency is down 0.23% at Rs 65.99 per dollar.
