BSE closes 161.19 points up on August 28

Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 161.19 points up to stand at 26,392.38. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 53.00 points up to stand at 8,001.95. Vakrangee Ltd and Gateway Distriparks Ltd were among the top gainers of group A with an increase of 9.88% and 7.32% along with GATI Ltd and Aban Offshore Ltd with an increase of 7.11% and 6.61% respectively, while the top losers of group A Sunrise Asian Limited and Indian Overseas Bank with a decrease of 9.98% and 5.41% along with Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd and Housing Development and Infrastructure Ltd with a decrease of 5.01% and 4.99% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 179.71 points at 18,003.50 while the Banking sector is down 46.15 points at 19,703.42 and the Realty sector is down 6.27 points at 1,277.73. The Indian currency is up 0.12% at Rs 66.12 per dollar.
