Amit Shah accepts Election Commission's decision of censuring him

Narendra Modi's close aide and BJP leader Amit Shah who runs party's campaign in Uttar Pradesh, accepted Election Commission's decision after it censured Shah for giving a series of speeches deemed to have stoked tensions with Muslims. The Election Commission (EC) ruled that Shah had made statements that promoted "hatred and ill will" between religions and urged police to press criminal charges. Shah, who was censured by the EC on April 16, said his intention was clear but he was being misinterpreted.Shah also justified his position saying a bowler could not give a good delivery every time. The Election Commission on Wednesday censured BJP leader Amit Shah and Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan for their alleged hate speeches during the Lok Sabha election campaign.
