Video shows dramatic rescue of Syrian child buried under rubble

New video has emerged showing the dramatic moment a Syrian child is rescued from underneath rubble.

In the unverified amateur footage, Syrian men are seen frantically digging through rubble in an attempt to reach the child. The men were reportedly alerted to the situation after hearing the child's cries.

When they first discover the child, it is unclear if he is alive, but he is then seen rubbing dust from his eyes.

The 8-minute video, which was posted to YouTube by Syrian activists, is believed to have been filmed in rebel-held Aleppo.

This is the latest video to purportedly display the extent of damage in conflict-ridden Syria. Earlier this month, photos of a similar rescue made headlines around the world.

The baby was allegedly buried under rubble following an airstrike by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Al Assad in the Duma neighbourhood of Damascus on January 7.

And last year, another video showing a heartbreaking reunion of a father and his son surfaced. The 7-minute clip released by opposition activists was allegedly shot in the town of Zamalka in southwest Syria on August 25.

The powerful video showed a man reunite with the song he through had died. In the video you see the father rushing out to embrace his son and then collapse into the arms of the men who surround him, apparently overcome by emotion.
