VIDEO: Chilean sub injures himself jogging onto the pitch

Marco Medel has earned a spot in football's history books by making what must be the shortest contribution to a match of all time.

Chilean football star Marco Medel earned an unwanted distinction in a top flight match in the South American nation at the weekend.

Medel had started on the bench for Santiago Wanderers, but with his side locked at 0-0 against CD Universidad de Conception he was called upon to replace Pablo Tamburrini in midfield.

Sadly, the 25-year-old's stint on the pitch was a total disaster. Somehow, in the mere act of jogging onto the turf, Medel managed to pull his hamstring.

With the pain quickly becoming agonising, Medel soon collapsed to the turf - and had to be stretchered off the pitch!
