The internet had A LOT to say about Sam Faiers’ boyfriend Paul Knightley after their reality TV show, The Baby Diaries, debuted on Sunday.

The long anticipated show follows Sam and Paul, her boyfriend of 16 months, in the early days of parenthood. New father Paul’s behaviour on the show caused some outrage on Twitter, with commentators calling him ‘controlling’ and a ‘man child’.
And Sam even noticed, telling him at one point “I feel like you haven’t been around” in the weeks leading up to her birth.

Not that that stopped him sticking his oar in when it came to dressing Paul Junior. Sam returned a bunch of Burberry baby clothes after Paul Senior dismissed them as to not being his taste. No one is asking you to wear the, Paul, Snr.
Sam excused him by saying: “He’s just very particular about what he likes.”
Paul refused to move in with Sam when she was six months pregnant, saying: “I don’t think I will officially move in. I’ll be here all the time but I won’t be moving.”
He also got her to make him beans on toast while she was breastfeeding and complained about pasta she had made being “too watery”.

He even took a two-hour nap while she was in labour. #classy.
People took to Twitter to share their disgust at his behaviour.
@MariaFowler wrote: “Watching Sam Faiers baby diaries … So cute! But surprised about her bf though, he seems a bit of a man child?”
Another commentator added: “Anyone else think that Paul and his mum are very controlling and have an odd feel about them ?? #babydiaries #samfaires.’ [sic].
“Sam Faiers Baby Diaries her boyfriend is coming across like a bit of a Tool though… #babydiaries” observed another.
Paul didn’t win any viewers over with his totally awks on the lips kiss with his mum, Gaynor.

One Twitter user said “Just watched the Sam faiers programme. Her boyfriend and his mother are very creepy… Strange relationship.”
Sam herself seemed fairly chuffed with the results. She tweeted: “omg we was so nervous watching the show tonight… Thank u so much everyone for your support #TheBabyDiaries.”
In another message she wrote: “Overwhelmed with all your kind messages and support good night xxxxx.”

Sam admitted that Paul wasn’t too keen on appearing on the reality show at first (we wonder why). She said: "He wasn’t too keen on the cameras.He took some persuading. It’s not his world. He has a normal life but he did it for me. I’m glad he got as involved as he did.”
Mmm, we not sure he’d agree.
