Ten-man Ismaily reach Confederation Cup round of 16

Ismaily advanced to the Confederation Cup round of 16 following a 4-3 win on penalties over Congolese side Etanchéité on Sunday in the second leg the competition's round of 32.

The Egyptians, who secured a goalless draw in the first leg last week, failed to score during the 90 minutes of the second leg before deciding the game on penalties.

Ismaily defender Shawqui El-Said was sent off in the 76th minute of the game following a violent tackle.

Keeper Mohamed Awad was the hero of the penalties, saving two shots to help his side reach the next round. 

Wadi Degla, the second Egyptian representative in the competition, also went through to the next round after defeating AS Douane de Lomé of Togo 2-0 on Sunday.
