At Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Afridi reached his century off 58 balls. But his 181-run stand for the first wicket with Nadeem Rahim (82) was pivotal as ADCB posted a mammoth total of 219-3 against Etihad Airways.

Afridi found the boundary 18 times and hit a six, while Rahim’s 43-ball knock included nine fours and five sixes.

The chase was always going to be tough for Etihad Airways and that proved to be the case.

Etihad lost two wickets for 11 runs before opener Pragash Ramachandran began a counter attack to score 78 off 46 deliveries but it wasn’t good enough, reaching 160- 5, falling by 59 runs. Meanwhile, Rai hit 103 off 48 balls as they posted 194-6 against Ferco.

Their second victory of the campaign was assured after Ferco were skittled out for a meagre 47. Although Interface were dominant in their 147-run win, they survived an early scare having been reduced to 42-2 in the sixth over.

But Rai arrived at the crease and was in confident mood, hitting 13 fours and two sixes. In the other games, William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana stunned UBL by five wickets, while Alubond Tigers edged Danube Lions by five runs.
