Stunning Design Concepts Show Razor-thin ‘Liquimetal’ iPhone 7 Measuring Just 3mm Thick

The new iPhone 7 could ditch all its ports in favour of a wireless charging and a razor-thin 3mm profile, according to new concept designs.

Designer Herman Haidin has imagined what Apple’s upcoming flagship handset might look like and some of the tech that it could have on board.

Along with a new super-slim form factor, Haidin predicts that Apple could use ‘liquidmetal’ inside the new handset. Apple acquired the patent for the alloy several years ago.

The tech giant currently uses liquidmetal to make the SIM slot opening tool that is provided in every iPhone box.

The alloy is tough and water resistant, making it ideal for Haidin’s new waterproof handset design.

He’s even dreamt up new ‘iDiver’ software for divers to help them take underwater snaps.

The slim 3mm profile is the result of ditching the bulky headphone jack and lightning charging ports, with users instead relying on wireless charging.

The Ukranian designer has also included ‘full screen mode’ which uses 100 per cent of the phone’s front surface as a screen, and there’s even a display on the back of the handset that can only be fired up with an eye retina scan.

The design also includes a new sleep mode for saving battery power at night.

The real iPhone 7 is due to be unveiled by Apple in September.
