Stank and Hilde Kwik on the draw as they win Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge title

Stank and Hilde Kwik of team Kwik emerged as winners in the second qualifying round of the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge (XCGC) 2015, which was held at The Royal Golf Club, Riffa, in Bahrain.

The Kwiks finished with a strong total of 44 points, which was four better than Ahmed Sultan and Haitham Haji of team Sultanies, who finished as runners-up with 40 points.

The Sultanies had to beat team Jolly Jacks, consisting of Phil Sadler and Jason Leighton, on a countback after the other team also finished on 40.

On-course competitions included PWS’s longest drive on the third hole, claimed by Waleed Al Alawi, while Andy Love was nearest to the pin on Ecco Hole (hole No. 7). The other nearest to the pin prize, sponsored by Aramex, was won by Tatiana Hurter, while the Crystal Gallery’s longest drive on hole 13 award was taken by Sadler.

By winning the qualifier, team Kwik have earned their right to play in the Grand Final in Ras Al Khaimah, scheduled to be held later in the year. Sponsors of the new season of the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge, which is in it’s 17th edition this year, include Prestige Wealth Solutions, Ecco, RAK Tourism, and Aramex.

The next qualifying round is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, at Yas Links in Abu Dhabi. The week after, the tournament makes its second visit outside the UAE, travelling to Oman’s Almouj Golf in Muscat for the forth qualifying round on Friday, April 17.
