Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, joined Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nayhan in celebrating Manchester City's Premier League title success on Monday.

Writing to his 2.8 million Twitter followers, Sheikh Mohammed posted a photograph of himself alongside Sheikh Mansour cutting into a giant cake in celebration of City's achievement.

Also in the photograph are Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Minister of Interior and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, UAE Foreign Minister.

City, who were bought over by Sheikh Mansour in 2008, claimed a second league title in three years on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over West Ham United.

Goals from Samir Nasri and captain Vincent Kompany ensured City finishing the season two points ahead of second-placed Liverpool, who beat Newcastle 2-1 on the final day.

The success completed a memorable debut season in charge for Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini, who also led the club to the League Cup with victory over Sunderland in February's final.

The former Real Madrid coach also wrote his name into the history books as he became the first non-European manager to win the Premier League title.

City's triumph is further reward to Sheikh Mansour who has invested close to £1billion into the club since his high-profile takeover at the Etihad Stadium in 2008.

Indeed, a quick look at the net spend of all 20 clubs in the Premier League this season over the past five season reveals that City have outspent each and everyone of them.

Since taking control, City have gone onto win two league titles (2012 and 2014), the FA Cup (2011) and the League Cup (2014), with Pellegrini promising further success in the future.

"Big teams cannot be satisfied with one title," said Pellegrini after picking up his first major title after a decade in European football.

"It's very important. Celebrate, today and Monday and on Tuesday start preparing for next season because this club and players deserve more titles."

Music to the ears of Sheikh Mansour and City supporters, we're sure.
