Richard Gere film to open Abu Dhabi Film Festival

Hollywood actor Richard Gere will be jetting into Abu Dhabi next month to open this year's Abu Dhabi Film Festival with his finance thriller 'Arbitrage'.

Gere, 63, plays a successful hedge fund magnate who takes desperate measures to complete the sale of his empire in the film.

The movie, which opened in the USA this week, is already generating Oscar buzz for Gere's performance.

Director Nicholas Jarecki and actor Nate Parker will accompany him at the film's showing at the Emirates Palace Hotel on October 11.

The film is produced by Saudi Mohammad Al Turki, who will also attend the festival.

This year, the Abu Dhabi Film Festival runs from October 11- 20.
