CAIRO, EGYPT: A boy flies a kite in sight of the mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha on The Citadel of Cairo. This mosque, along with the citadel, is one of the landmarks and tourist attractions of Cairo and is one of the first features to be seen when approaching the city. The mosque was built by Muhammad Ali Pasha, an Albanian commander in the Ottoman army largely considered the founder of modern Egypt, in memory of Tusun Pasha, his oldest son, who died in 1816. less
