Oleksandr Noyok produces contender for worst play-acting of all time for Metalurg Donetsk

Oleksandr Noyok seemed to think he could con the referee with some amateur dramatics...

Is it a snake? A floundering eel? No, it's a Ukrainian footballer!

In what must be one of the most blatant pieces of simulation ever seen on a football pitch, Metalurg Donetsk's Oleksandr Noyok committed the above act in a match against Karpaty Lviv this weekend.

Now, the video does not show what preceded this dramatic display, so there is a small chance that Noyok was actually caught by a haymaker and dumped to the turf.

It would explain - though only just - the quite astonishing display of rolling and face-clutching that we can ever remember. If you didn't know better you'd swear that the grass had been electrified!

But the way he leaps to his feet when he realises he has not got the decision suggests this was a heinous, and deeply funny, attempt to con the ref.
