A nutritionist has revealed a simple flab-fighting hack that will help dieters shed pounds and curb appetite for just 33p. In the search for better health and nutrition, one humble dairy product is a powerful ally in the battle against unwanted pounds and insatiable cravings: Greek yoghurt.

Guna Bilande, who helps bariatric patients at Weight Loss Riga, combines scientific research and practical experience to highlight the transformative benefits of adding Greek yoghurt to your daily diet.

"Greek yoghurt is a nutritional powerhouse," she said. "Packed with protein, probiotics and essential nutrients, it possesses a unique combination of properties that make it a game-changer for weight management."

Delving into the science behind Greek yoghurt's effectiveness, Guna referenced a significant study conducted in 2021. This study explored the impact of dairy consumption on post-meal glycemia and appetite levels, revealing compelling evidence of Greek yoghurt's role in appetite suppression.

"The findings of this study are nothing short of remarkable," she said. "Greek yoghurt, when consumed alongside carbohydrates, has been shown to significantly reduce post-meal glycemia and curb appetite, thanks to its high protein content."

But what sets Greek yoghurt apart from its counterparts? Guna highlighted its unparalleled versatility and satiating power.

"Protein is the key," she said. "Greek yoghurt's rich protein content not only enhances feelings of fullness and satiety but also helps regulate appetite throughout the day."

Whether enjoyed as a standalone snack, blended into smoothies, or incorporated into savoury dishes, Greek yoghurt offers endless culinary possibilities.

When it comes to including it in your everyday diet, Guna said: "Start by incorporating a modest serving of Greek yoghurt, roughly 150 to 200 grams, into your daily meals. Experiment with different flavour combinations and recipes to keep things exciting and sustainable. Over time, the benefits will become apparent, as cravings diminish, and weight loss becomes more achievable.”

A 500g tub is around £1.10 in supermarkets, working out at 33p per serving, Guna said.
