New world record for Dubai as parachute stuntman makes history

Ernesto Gainza successfully lands the world's smallest parachute

Dubai witnessed another world record on Saturday as Spaniard Ernesto Gainza made history by landing the smallest parachute ever.

A crowd of thrill seekers turned out in force to watch the stunt, entitled "Project XCF", and they were not to be disappointed.

After months of preparation and planning, Gainza was jubilant after successfully navigating his parachute, measuring just 35 square feet, to the landing site at Skydive Dubai.

As he touched down safely he was immediately greeted by his jubilant wife to kickstart wild celebrations among organisers and fans who had turned out to watch history being made in the skies of Dubai.
