New Fifty Shades Of Grey Book Confirmed

It’s been more than three years since the last ‘Fifty Shades’ book was released, but fans hoping to get their Christian Grey fix will be very happy with the news that a new book is on its way.

Author EL James took to Instagram today (June 1) to confirm the news that she’s written a new FSOG novel.

The book, simply called ‘Grey’, will be written from Christian’s point of view and will be released on June 18th 2015 – his birthday.

It’s not yet known whether 'Grey' will include his perspective about the first book, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ or all three books, including the latter ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ and ‘Fifty Shades Freed.’

Either way, fans were absolutely ecstatic about the news, with one particular fan unable to contain her excitement, below.

‘Yayayayayayayyayayayay I'm about to die for real I can't breathe I can't wait ugh I really am gonna flip out this is what I've been waitin for after we got a sneak peek at the end of fifty shades freed oh my god yassss i can't wait another minute this is gonna be amazing [sic],’ the fan wrote on Instagram.

Since the publication of the first ‘Fifty Shades’ book in 2011, fans have written to EL James (real name Erika James) begging her to write the book from Christian’s perspective.

So it comes as no surprise than in the first chapter of ‘Grey’, she admits it’s for the fans.

"This book is dedicated to those readers who asked…and asked… and asked… and asked for this," she writes.

She adds that readers have long been interested in the ‘complex’ character of Mr. Christian Grey.

“Christian is a complex character and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past,” said James in a statement about the new book.

“Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story.

“It’s been a great pleasure to return to my happy place – writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic publishing teams in the US and the UK.”

The ‘Fifty Shades’ trilogy has sold more than 125 million copies worldwide and has more recently been made into a film, starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.

The film version of 'Fifty Shades Darker' will be released in 2017.
