Israel's Netanyahu says visit to Washington not political

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday said that although his address to U.S. lawmakers has been the subject of controversy, he never intended his Washington visit to be political. "I deeply regret that some perceive my being here as political. That was never my intention," he told Congress, adding that Israel appreciates U.S. President Barack Obama's support.
