Ismaily held by Petro Atletico in Confederation Cup

Ismaily

Ismaily failed to gain a home-field advantage against Petro Atletico on Sunday as they were held to a goalless draw by the Angolan side at Suez stadium.

The Egyptian representative, suffering several absences on their frontline, huffed and puffed through the 90 minutes but were easily contained by the defensive-minded Petro Atletico, who were happy to share honours at the final whistle.

Ghanaian striker John Antwi – the only recognised striker at the disposal of coach Heron Ricardo – spearheaded Ismaily's attack in the first half but he once again failed to make his presence felt.

The second leg will be played next weekend in Luanda.
