Father and son’s ‘happy’ dance becomes an internet sensation

A father and son entertained thousands of fans at a big sports event with their perfectly synchronised ‘happy’ dance.

The pair's fun, crazy routine to the Pharrell Williams song "Happy" was shown on the giant screen during a time-out at the NCAA Championship basketball game.

Now a video of the performance has gone viral with the hugely popular clip propelling the duo to something very loosely described as social-media stardom.

The dad, Rob Maiden (apparently known to his friends as "Big Rob"), is also the captain of the Dallas Mavericks dance team.

He has now admitted that he and his 15-year-old son, Trey, had practised the moves beforehand in the hope of getting on the giant screen.

Well, their preparation paid off as they became the talk of the town with their hilarious routine.

Other members of the crowd also flashed up on the giant screen, as is the tradition, but the camera continued to cut back to Rob and Trey as the crowd cheered and laughed at their every move.
