Dubai’s $1b Taj Arabia to be built by 2014

October 3, 2012

Dubai’s replica of Taj Mahal will be three or four times bigger than the original world heritage site and is set to be completed by 2014, UAE daily magazine 7DAYS reported.

“Dubai’s about the bigger and the better - and we are creating that facility,” Arun Mehra, the main financial backer behind Taj Arabia, was quoted as saying by 7DAYS.

According to the team behind the mega project, ‘Taj Arabia’ will be part of the 3.8 million square meter Falcon City of Wonders on Emirates Road.

The city will include copies of other global landmarks such as The Eiffel Tower and the Pisa Tower, the report added.

“The project would be designed to engrave Dubai’s place in the minds and hearts of world citizens. It will be complete by the end of 2014,” Salem Al Moosa, CEO and chairman of Falcon City, was quoted as saying by 7DAYS.

Taj project will cost a whopping $1 billion (AED 3.6b), the report claimed.
