Wadi Degla took a first-leg advantage after securing a 1-1 away draw against Douane de Lome on Sunday in the opening of round 32 of the continental competition.

It was an excellent result for the Egyptian side in their first 'continental' appearance to date.

Degla's Ethiopian international striker Saladin Said gave his side the lead in the 21st minute of the game while Saibou Badarou converted a penalty in the 69th minute to score the equaliser for the hosts.

Earlier in the day, Ismaily secured a goalless draw in Congo against Etanchéité in the same round.

The game saw the injury of Ismaily's Ghanaian striker John Antwi who exited the field five minutes after the match's start.

Ismaily will have an easy game in the second leg next week in a home match in Ismailia.
