VIDEO: What do you love about Dubai? UAE residents speak out in support of Expo 2020 bid

What do you love about Dubai?

That's the question Emirati comedian Ali Al Sayed asked people from over 40 nationalities in a new video supporting the emirate's Expo 2020 bid.

"I had this idea over the summer and didn't think I could pull it off but then last week I said I'm going to do this," Al Sayed, who runs the local comedy club Dubomedy, told Yahoo Maktoob.

"I went on my Facebook and started messaging people I know from different nationalities about the video. It was amazing how many people came out and wanted to be a part of it."

AROUND THE WORLD

From France to India, Greece to Japan, people from around 40 different countries commented on what they loved about the emirate they call home.

"The people are very generous," said one. "Dubai is magical," said another.

"We got a nice variety of people and told them to say whatever they wanted, without giving any hints or ideas," Al Sayed explained. "It's amazing how the story came together on it's own."

Al Sayed said the producers were expecting the exact same answers - weather and safety - but everyone said something the other didn't.

READY FOR EXPO 2020

Home to over 200 nationalities, Dubai is just two weeks away from finding out if it will host the World Expo 2020.

Al Sayed said Dubai was ready to host the prestigious event.

"Expats are really blending into the culture right now. I remember 10 years ago, when I talked to people there was a gap between locals and expats but that is changing."

"It's not just the city, it's not just the government but it's the people of Dubai who are ready to host the Expo 2020."
