Sushmita Sen rubbishes rumours of her marriage to Wasim Akram

Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen is determined to stay single.

The model and actress, who was rumoured to be tying the knot with former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram, has denied the reports, according to Indian newspaper Times Of India.

NOT TRUE AT ALL

"Sushmita's too busy to plan a wedding," the actress' spokesperson told the newspaper, "It's not true at all. In fact Sushmita is having a show in Mumbai on the 24th of this month. I don't think she can have an event in Mumbai as well as plan her wedding simultaneously."

PAST RUMOURS

Bollywood was abuzz with rumours that Sen was dating the Kolkata Knight Riders coach for two years after they met on the sets of the dance reality show, Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena, back in 2008. The pair were judges on the show.

In 2011, the actress declared her fondness for the cricketer. “I am extremely fond of Wasim. But if I start having an affair with every man I am friends with… Being in a relationship is a big deal and the day I am in one, I will surely tell everyone. I won’t keep people guessing,” Indian newspaper DNA reporetd. But the rumours have not culminated in a marriage. At least not yet.

Akram lost his wife Huma Waseem in October, 2009 after she developed heart and kidney complications. Before her rumoured relationship with Akram, Sushmita Sen, who has two adopted daughters, Renee and Alisah, has been linked up with a series of Bollywood personalities like Vikram Bhatt, Mudassar Aziz and actor Randeep Hooda. She was also linked to businessman Imtiyaz Khatri.
