Aishwarya denies gifting her baby a house in Dubai

It turns out Beti B may not be getting a house a Dubai after all.

Local daily Gulf News reported that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s publicist has denied the actress bought her daughter, Aaradhya, an AED36 million property in Dubai.

Calling the rumour "false and untrue," the publicist reportedly asked: "Where is all this coming from? [It’s] ridiculous." A clarification followed, stating the actress and her daughter were in Mumbai and not in Dubai as widely speculated. Since Monday, reports of the star and her daughter flying into Dubai to book a grand mansion have been doing the rounds.

Speculating further, the publicist asked, "Ok, even if someone heard they were in Dubai, where did purchasing a house come from?" Aishwarya's actor husband Abhishek Bachchan later tweeted, “My dearest media. Last night at the event [Ritu Bedi’s fashion show] I said Aishwarya and Aaradhya were in MUMbai NOT DUbai. Thanks.”

NOT FIRST TIME

This is not the first time that rumours around Aaradhya have made news. In November last year, Indian media widely reported that the toddler was gifted a BMW Mini Cooper as her first birthday gift. A few weeks later, her grandfather Amitabh Bachchan clarified on his Facebook page that the car was a gift intended for him and not his granddaughter.

The statement read: "Misconception: Abhishek presented a car to Aaradhya on her first birthday. Wrong. No car was presented; instead a car was purchased by them to gift me on my birthday – a Mini Cooper, which I love, and which has a number plate 2882."
