Egypt's Mohamed Salah reminds Jose Mourinho of what he can do

Mohamed Salah staked his claim for more first-team minutes at Chelsea by starring in Egypt's African Cup of Nations qualifier on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old has struggled to establish himself in West London since joining the Blues from FC Basel In January 2014.

Salah has made just 11 Premier League appearances, most of which have come from the substitutes bench, and finds himself behind the likes of Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle and Willian in the pecking order.

Boss Jose Mourinho had tipped the fleet-footed forward to star this season afer a difficult few months adjusting to life in England.

While his club woes continue, the same cannot be said for his fortunes with his country as Salah gain stole the show with a goal in his side's 2-0 win over Botswana.

The win kept alive The Pharaoh's hopes of reaching the finals of the African Cup of Nations and improved Salah's international tally to 19 goals in just 33 games.

It's a record that perhaps only Brazil's Neymar can rival with the Barcelona man's four goals against Japan earlier this week moving him onto 40 goals from just 58 games.

In Salah's case, he can only hope Mourinho was watching.
