Barcelona starlet Munir El Haddadi scores Beckham-esque wonder goal

A new star was born on Monday as Barcelona were crowned European Under-19 champions with a 3-0 win over Benfica in the UEFA Youth League final.

Teenager Munir El Haddadi, who is of Moroccan descent, stole the headlines after scoring a wonder goal from the halfway line, reminiscent of David Beckham's famous effort for Manchester United in 1996.

The 87th minute goal put the seal on Barca's convincing victory over their Portuguese opponents after Rodrigo Tarin and El Haddadi had netted first-half strikes to put them in control.

However, El Haddadi saved the best to last, adding to his tally in the 87th minute with a breathtaking effort from the halfway line to seal victory in style.

Spotting Benfica keeper Graca off his line, Spaniard El Haddadi produced a sumptuous effort which sailed over the head of stranded custodian and into the net, sparking wild celebrations among the Barca players.

It seems the future is bright for the Catalans despite the transfer ban hanging over the club after they were found guilty for breaking FIFA's rules relating to the "international transfer of minors".

Remember the name, folks: Munir El Haddadi. We could be hearing a lot more of him in the future.
