Ahly's defender Rabia out of Ivory Coast trip

Rami Rabia

Ahly defender Rami Rabia will miss the club's coming clash against Ivory Coast's Sewe Sport due to an injury, the club announced late on Saturday.

The Cairo giants will be hosted by the Ivorian team on Sunday in the third round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

The 21-year old Rabia was doubtful for the match after returning from the national team recent friendly against Chile with an injury.

"Medical scans revealed that Rabia is suffering from pelvis pains. He will not be available for the trip to Ivory Coast," Ahly said in a statement on its official site.

Rabia's absence adds woes for Ahly, who are already missing the services of several key players like Emad Meteb, Mohamed Nagy 'Gedo', Sherif Abdel-Fadil, Walid Soliman, Sayed Moawad and Abdallah El-Said –  all out for different injuries.

Champions League holders Ahly are currently at the top of their Confederation Cup Group B on four points, two clear of Tunisia's Etoile.
