Ahly fly to Morocco, Gedo still doubtful for Difaa test

Ahly flew to Morocco on Wednesday morning to face Difaa Jadida in the second leg of the Confederation Cup round of 16 on Saturday.

The Reds laboured to a 1-0 home win over Difaa in the first leg on Sunday as they began their bid to become the first Egyptian side to win the continent’s second-most prestigious club competition.

According to Ahly's official website, coach Mohamed Youssef announced a 22-man squad this morning to travel to Morocco, only excluding winger Ahmed Fathy due to suspension.

Defender Mohamed Naguib is ready for the match after recovering from muscular problems, while forward Mohamed Nagi 'Gedo' could be doubtful as he still suffers from knee pain.

Fullback Sayed Moawad was also included in the travelling squad after missing recent matches for technical reasons.

"Naguib is ready for the match but Gedo will undergo further tests in Morocco on Thursday to determine his availability for the match," Ahly's doctor Ehab Aly explained.

Winning the Confederation Cup title will be a great consolation for Ahly after their elimination from the African Champions League following a shock 4-2 aggregate defeat by Libya's Ahly Benghazi in the last 16.
