1. A mobile carrier has, for the first time, started blocking all ads on consumers' phones. Jamaica-based carrier Digicel has become the first official customer of mobile ad blocking software provider Shine.

2. News Corp has sold off its money-losing education brand Amplify. Around 500 jobs have also been cut at the education unit, which was sold to a management team supported by a group of private investors.
