As part of their study program, 25 women photographers participated in a photography event organized by the provincial branch of the Arts and Culture Society in Baha.
The four-day course focusing on nature photography was organized in the Raghdan forest which is marked for its scenic beauty, Al-Watan daily reported on Thursday.
Supervisor of the society’s photography committee Ahmed Suleiman said, “The number of Saudi women interested in the field of culture and art is growing every day. This is particularly noted in the art of photography which has its own language and world on the Internet.”
The committee has many programs that focus on the needs of women and the photography course is one of them, Suleiman said.
Director of the society Ali Al-Baidani said the committee’s objective is to develop the basic skills of women photographers. They spend three hours on each day of the course in the forest.
The coach at the course Sana familiarized the participants with skills of professional photography and use of advanced cameras besides discussing the photos taken during the trip to the forest. She also lectured them on various trends in modern photography. The participants also were supplied with certificates for their successful completion of the course.
