Young swimmers bring honours at DIAC 2015

Three young swimmers studying at The Millennium School (TMS) Dubai have won laurels at Dubai International Aquatic Championships 2015, organized by UAE Swimming Federation at Hamdan Sports Complex from April 1st till April 4th 2015.

Aakash Deep Singh, grade 6, won Silver medal in the 50 meters Backstroke event for Boys 10-11 yrs.

Hriday Sundaram, grade 7, won two Bronze medals in 50 and 100 meters Breaststroke event in the same age group while Aarya Lakshminarayanan, grade 9, won Bronze medal in 50 meters Breaststroke event for Girls aged 12-13.

Hriday and Aakash also won two gold medals and two silver medals each in the relay events.

The Dubai International Aquatic Championships is the 1st international aquatics tournament for international clubs worldwide.

This landmark competition is aimed at uniting children and adults from 10 years of age onwards.

The Swimming event has been approved by FINA as a qualification event as FINA "A" and "B" Swimming qualifying Standard Times for the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 (Kazan, Russia).

DIAC 2015 was a grand success with active participation by swimming federations and leading clubs from not just the GCC, but from all over the Middle East, India, North Africa and Europe.

This is the second major event in which the three students have demonstrated their exemplary skills. Previously all three had been winners at the CBSE Nationals in 2014.
