PM's address on economic reforms evokes mixed response from politicians

After Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's televised and broadcasted address over the radio to the nation defending the economic reforms congress spokesperson, Rashid Alvi said that people of the country would now understand the economic situations and support the decision. Speaking in the context of these issues, Alvi said that farmers and common man would benefit from FDI. Justifying the address Education Minister Kapil Sibal said that the focus of the reforms has been to maintain economic stability in the country and ensure reduced fiscal deficit.
