Vettel and Ricciardo delight F1 fans by taking Red Bull car for a spin in Dubai

It's safe to say Infiniti Red Bull Racing have an eye for the spectacular.

Twelve months on from their epic Burj Al Arab stunt, the team was again the talk of Dubai on Wednesday night as Formula One drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel showed off their driving skills.

The duo took to the runway of SkyDive Dubai for an ear splitting showrun for their legion of fans ahead of this weekend's season-ending (and defining) Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Thousands turned out to catch a glimpse of four-time world champion Vettel and Ricciardo perform high-speed doughnuts in the 2011 Championship-winning race car.

Juergen Schmitz, Managing Director, Infiniti Middle East, said: "The Infiniti Showrun was a hugely exciting and successful event, igniting the Dubai Motor Festival with a truly unique spectacle for the UAE’s passionate car fans and demonstrating Infiniti’s core focus of automotive performance."

It also marked the final time Vettel will sit behind the wheel of the record-breaking car as he gears up for his big-money move to Ferrari next season.

Exciting Australian Ricciardo, winner of three races this year, will take up the mantle of No1 driver for the Austrian team next year with young Russian Daniil Kvyat joining as his new team-mate.

Wednesday's stunt was the latest in a long line of successful PR exercises for Red Bull in Dubai.

The first of those came in 2010 when driver, Neel Jani, raced the Red Bull car down Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road at nearly 185 miles per hour.

Last year former ex-F1 driver David Coulthard was behind the wheel as he took the Red Bull for a spin atop the world's only seven-star hotel, the Burj Al Arab.
