US woman jumps to death from a Dubai building

Dubai Marina, United Arab EmiratesA US woman living in Dubai who was experiencing psychological problems following her divorce has committed suicide by jumping off the 10th floor in the marina area of the city, UAE website Emirates 24/7 reported on Wednesday.

Police say they don’t suspect foul play as the 30-year-old has previously attempted to commit suicide, but she was prevented by the police, the report added.

Colonel Mohammad Al Razooki, deputy director of the investigation and police stations department, told Emirates 24/7 that officers have unsuccessfully tried to persuade her not to commit suicide.

“We had received messages from the woman saying she would try again to kill herself...she said she was under psychological pressure and was taking tranquilizers since her divorce.

Police found a text message on her mobile phone sent to her ex-husband asking him to return to her.
