The UAE has been hailed as the cleanest of all countries within the GCC, it has been revealed.
Only 132 countries in total made the final list, compiled by a survey by the World Environmental Performance Index (EPI) carried out by prestigious US universities.
Switzerland topped the survey, with Latvia, Norway, Luxembourg and Costa Rica making up the rest of the top five.
The UAE came in at number 75, but was the highest ranked country in the GCC. Saudi Arabia was second best, coming in at 82. Egypt was the top ranked Arab country at number 60.
Other notable GCC countries are Qatar, Oman and Kuwait, which came in at numbers 100, 110 and 126 respectively.
