Iranian giants Esteghlal have received a letter from UAE Pro-League runners-up Al Nasr requesting a release for midfielder Mojtaba Jabbari according to the Tehran Times.
The alleged move comes as a shock following Iranian Football Federation president Ali Kafashian's revelation last month that UAE clubs would no longer contract Iranian footballer for political reasons.
Recently, UAE-based Iranians Mohammad Reza Khalatbari, Iman Mobali and Pejman Nouri left their Pro-League clubs.
It has been reported Walter Zenga's Al Nasr have sent Esteghlal a letter, requesting a release for the talented 29-year-old Iran international.
Al Nasr will compete in next year's AFC Champions League but currently have Australian Mark Bresciano as their Asian player, although he has been linked with a move to Qatar.
